How is everyone today? I hope you're all enjoying the snow, despite not being able to wear decent shoes in this weather! (I tried wearing my nice boots earlier, only to skid around and pour the cup of Starbucks I was carrying down my parka!). The joys of trying to look fashionable....
Anyway, this is the very first post from Steph at The Fashion Careers Clinic.
Let's get one thing clear - I am VERY sorry about our appearance, and this is NOT how we want the site to look, believe me! As fashion people, I know you expect - and deserve better - however let's just say I am not the most gifted of people when it comes to tech type computer stuff, and at this point in time, I don't have the skills to make the site look amazing.
I'd rather spend time on finding out what's going on in the slightly surreal world of fashion design right now, as I'm hidden away at home, launching The Fashion Careers Clinic, and need some human contact! If you don't already know about it, The Fashion Careers Clinic (or FCC) is a totally new careers advice service, just for fashion designers (and budding designers).
The aim is to advise and support anyone who needs some guidance on how to create a portfolio or update the one they already have, give interview advice, CV tips, and so on... Basically, I'm here to help on anything to do with searching for a job in fashion design.
We all know how exciting this industry can be, but sometimes it can be a bit too weird and scary and you just need someone to ask for advice - consider it done - give me a shout if you need some help, either for a one to one consultation, or via email and phone support.
Ok, that's the hard sell done :) - I would love to hear about what is happening in your world of design - if anyone has any fashion gossip, news, advice for others, events they would like to share, please let me know!
The blog will be updated on a regular basis - keep visiting to be updated on 'insider' info, advice, and news...
