Want to be a fashion stylist? The Fashion Careers Clinic can now help you!

Since The Fashion Careers Clinic opened in 2009, we've focused on advising graduates and professionals who want to get into fashion design, PR, marketing and promotion. Now we're very pleased to tell you that we can also help those looking to get into fashion styling!

Freelance stylist, Madeleine Ostlie has recently joined the team, and she's available for personal careers consultations in London. Madeleine will be able to cast her expert eye over your portfolio and give an unbiased opinion on whether it makes the grade, as well as explaining how you can find work or internships and how to network within the styling sector. To make an appointment or for more information, email steph@fashioncareersclinic.com

Madeleine is also available to deliver styling workshops and talks at schools, colleges, universities and creative careers events.

Here's a brief overview of her experience to date:

Madeleine has worked for the past year as a Consultant-at-Large for Lulu Kennedy at FASHION EAST and as the Stylist for her new LULU & CO company, which has just launched a retrospective edit collection of dresses by Fashion East designers, to celebrate the 10 year Anniversary of FASHION EAST.

She also assists the Fashion Directors Celestine Cooney of TWIN Magazine and Toby Grimditch of DANSK Magazine; both directional fashion bi-annuals. In the past she has also assisted Kate Phelan, the Fashion Director at British VOGUE. She has shot for magazines like VICE and JUKE Magazine, and her other clients include Marina & the Diamonds and Grace Woodward, whom she styled for BRITAIN'S NEXT TOP MODEL, where Grace was a Panel Judge.

Madeleine also has her own blog - SEAMLESS (www.seamlessfashion.blogspot.com),g and was recently profiled by VICE in a short film as an up-and-coming Blogger.

Madeleine worked for 3 years as a Buying Assistant at TOPSHOP Head Office for the Designer Collaborations & Boutique Departments. Here she gained extensive experience on a high profile department of a market leading retailer, working closely alongside the Department Buyer and Merchandiser, as well as top level management. She worked on garment construction, product development, order maintenance, price negotiation and had strong relationships with factories and suppliers. She left Buying to begin work as a Stylist.

Madeleine was featured in the styling chapter of our fashion careers advice guidebook: How To Prepare For A Career In Fashion. Why not buy a copy to find out her top tips for aspiring stylists? www.fashioncareersclinic.myshopify.com
